We await a response from the club regarding which date would suit them best to send along representatives who can tell fans about their plans and answer questions. The dates proposed are Tuesday, 26th June and Wednesday, 27th June.
May 15th 2007 - The Supporters’ Trust has today issued the following statement.
Representatives of both the ICT Supporters Trust and the Football Club met today (Tuesday) to discuss the Singing Section at Saturday’s match with Dunfermline.
The Trust took to the Club the concerns of fans about events at the game. It is clear that much can be learned from what happened and further dialogue and investigations are required to complete this process. However, we are pleased that the Football Club remains committed to the Singing Section becoming a permanent fixture at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.
The Trust will arrange a meeting for fans in the near future, to which club representatives will be invited, to hear how fans feel this initiative should be taken forward.
May 13th 2007 - The Supporters’ Trust has today issued the following statement following difficulties experienced at the Singing Section, organised jointly by the Club and the Trust at the Dunfermline game on May 12th.
The board of the Supporters' Trust met today (Sunday) and discussed the concerns raised by fans about events in the Singing Section at Saturday's game. We have received a large number of messages and emails from concerned supporters and we are presently collating information and will issue a further statement in due course.
The Chairman of the Supporters' Trust, Les Kidger, and the Chairman of the Football Club, Alan Savage, have spoken today and the Trust will be seeking a meeting with the club later this week.
The Singing Section certainly helped to improve the atmosphere at Saturday's game and it is important that the difficulties experienced do not hinder the development of this important initiative.
May 6th 2007 - Congratulations to Trust board member, Hamish Wood, who was last week elected as a Liberal Democrat councillor.
April 8th 2007 - The board of the Supporters Trust is pleased to announce that it has co-opted two new members. Paul Adlinton and Stephanie Grant - known as Mr and Mrs Pauliebee in some circles - have agreed to join us and we know their enthusiasm and skills will be very welcome.
March 20th 2007 - The Supporters Trust has given the club £3500 to purchase a sprayer attachment for the groundsman’s tractor at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. This will help keep the ground in tip-top shape and do away with the need for the club to borrow or hire such equipment in the future.
January 31st 2007 - Following an EGM of the football club, the 12% shareholding previously held by the Members’ Club will now be transferred to the ICT Supporters Trust. The press release issued jointly by the Club & Trust is below.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have given their Supporters Trust the biggest slice of shareholding in SPL history.
Caley Thistle's Supporters Trust now own 12 per cent of club shares -- with Dundee United next in the SPL with 5.6 per cent followed by Hearts (3.5%) and Falkirk (3%).
The football club board has approved the transfer to the Trust of the shareholding from the Members Club, which now dissolves. The Members Club was a legacy of the 1994 merger between Highland League sides Caledonian and Inverness Thistle which allowed the new team to be born.
Caley Thistle chairman Alan Savage said:"The directors are very happy to agree the transfer to allow supporters of this club a significant stake, which makes the Trust one of our larger shareholders.
"The Members Club has passed into history and we applaud their recognition that it was time to move on. It makes sense that the shares go to those who actively support Caley Thistle now. Many of these fans were not associated with the former Highland League clubs.
"We're very pleased that our supporters now have more influence than those at any other SPL club. The Trust has shown a very positive and sensible approach and we look forward to closer links."
Supporters Trust chairman Les Kidger said:"It's another major milestone in the Caley Thistle story and our members are delighted to have such a strong voice at the table.
"We hope this feeling of ownership will help widen the club's fan base.We intend to work very closely with the board, which is clearly heading in the right direction.
"We're grateful to former Caley Thistle chairman David Sutherland, who encouraged us a couple of years ago when we first sought to untangle the legal and prcedural situation with the Members Club. And incoming chairman Alan Savage has shown equally strong support and enabled us to deliver what is good news for club and fans alike."
The Trust's shareholding will dilute to 10 per cent if the club's available for sale shares attract new investment. But Mr Kidger said:"It is the principle that matters more than the amount. We would still be the most democratic club in the SPL."
December 14th 2006 - Last night the Members’ Club met and agreed to both wind up their activities and transfer their shareholding to the Supporters’ Trust. This will now be considered at a Football Club EGM in January after which, all being well, the transfer can take place.
November 26th 2006 - Trust board members along with some other helpers distributed a selection of literature to home fans before the Hearts game on November 23rd. As well as material promoting the Trust there was also a special A3 sized poster celebrating 10 years of Caledonian Stadium and details of the Club’s Christmas plans and promotions.
November 12th 2006 - There have been some slight delays in the process of transferring the Members’ Club shares to the Supporters’ Trust. All parties are still in discussion and we hope that things will be concluded shortly. The ICT Supporters’ Trust AGM takes place on Thursday, 23rd November at 7.30pm. The venue this year will be the ICT Social Club on Greig Street and the AGM will be followed by the now traditional Football Forum. Existing members can renew their subscription for 2006-07 before the AGM and attend. New members can join on the night but will only be able to attend the football forum.
August 22nd 2006 - ICT have announced that an EGM will be held in early October to agree to the transfer of a portion of the club’s shareholding to the Supporter’s Trust. By this time it is hoped that the Members’ Club will have met to surrender their voting rights. Trust chairman Les Kidger said: "We're delighted we're on the verge of gaining a significant slice of the football club's shares. "The exact amount is yet to be finally calculated for legal and financial reasons, but it is around 10%. However, the exact amount is not, and has never been, an issue for the trust. What we wanted was to establish the principle of ordinary fans, through the trust, having a shareholding they could not afford as individuals."
June 28th 2006 - There is now another way in which you can contact ICTST. With immediate effect you can phone us on 07879221569. Please leave a message if nobody is able to answer straight away and we will get back in touch.
April 20th 2006 - The lineup for the Trust Football Forum at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium on the evening of Thursday , 27th April has now been finalised. Taking part this time will be Club Chairman, David Sutherland, Charlie Christie, Ross Tokely and Trust Chairman, Les Kidger. Bill McAllister will once again chair the event. This evening is for Trust members only but new members can join on the night
April 6th 2006 - Further updates to the dates of certain events. Check the Events page.
March 8th 2006 - Following discussions with the club, the trust board has agreed to move the Legends’ Dinner to the evening of 29th September. We are pleased to report that Eric Hastie has agreed to take on the post of Secretary recently vacated by Ian Broadfoot.
February 22nd 2006 - It was with great regret that the board members of ICTST heard of Ian Broadfoot’s decision to stand down from the board for personal reasons. In the short history of ICTST Ian’s contribution has been enormous. He was a key member of the steering group and more recently acted as secretary. His involvement will be missed but we know he will continue to cheer us on from the sidelines. Ian will continue to act as club historian for ICT.
February 13th 2006 - As has previously been mentioned, together with many fans, ICTST has been lobbying for more affordable children’s matchday tickets. We, therefore, welcome the news that the North Stand Family Section at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium will be extended by 200 seats for the match against Motherwell on 4th March.
February 6th 2006 - Further to the news item posted on 18th January, we have now heard back from the club on the subject of children’s ticket prices. The club has pointed out to us that they extended the size of the family section of the North Stand by some 200 seats for the game against Livingston last month. Presently there are no plans to repeat this exercise though we believe this may be reviewed depending on the opposition we are facing after the SPL split in April. The board of the ICTST still believe that £15 is too much to pay for a kid’s ticket and, like many fans, will continue to lobby for change.
January 31st 2006 - The Trust has had talks with Dee4Life (the Dundee FC Supporters Trust) who have offered the use of the hospitality facilities at Dens Park prior to the Dundee United game on 18th February. This will be for the use of Trust members and their guests. Dee4Life have kindly agreed that Supporters Club members will also be able to use the facilities.
Kids will also be welcome but there will be a strict limit of 150 people in total. There will be a £1 admission charge which will cover the cost of snacks (including pehs!) and, of course, there will be a pay bar.
January 28th 2006 - The board of the ICT Supporters Trust welcomes the news of the appointment of Charlie Christie and Donald Park as the club’s new management team. Like all Caley Thistle fans we wish them every success and hope they can build on the achievements of previous managers.
January 24th 2006 - The board of the ICT Supporters Trust is currently putting together a programme of events for the coming year. Planning and preparation is now under way for an ICT Legends’ Awards Dinner which will take place on Friday, 2nd June at the Drumossie Hotel. This will be a black tie event and we hope to have as many of Caley Thistle’s great players from the past there as possible. It should be a great evening. We will get more details to you on this page as they become available. Email us if you want to be kept up to date about this event.
We also hope to hold a boxing evening in October and are trying to arrange an informal lunch gathering where families can meet the players.
January 18th 2006 - Representatives of the trust board have now had profitable meetings with ICT’s Chairman, Chief Executive and Director of Football. One thing which has come from these meetings is a request from the club that the Trust act as a channel to bring grievances being voiced by fans about the club to their attention. Please email us about any matter you feel we should be pursuing. We have already taken the opportunity to express our concern about the price of children’s tickets which we feel is too high and know that a lot of fans feel likewise. Thus far we have had no reply but will be chasing it up.
